What is the difference between abatement and remediation?

Abatement is a strategy of removing or lessening the problem so it no longer causes a health hazard to others. Remediation is the process of addressing the underlying problems by outlining the scope of the problem, the source and recommendations for elimination.

How much does it cost for an assessment or environmental remediation?

Cost involves a variety of variables: scope of work, severity of contamination, etc. Most simple assessments are no cost and are part of the site inspection leading up to recommendations and a written cost proposal for the environmental remediation cost is determined by the findings of the assessment.

How long does it take to schedule an environmental remediation job?

Most jobs are scheduled within the same week; depending on location and scope of work. If the job requires an environmental permit or other authorized signatories, that can delay the start date. We coordinate directly with the client to determine a time that works best for you.

Where do you take the remediated materials to dispose of it?

Each material is evaluated based upon the regulations that oversee the safe handling, packaging, transportation and final documented disposal. Some projects involve several waste streams and certified disposal sites. We strive to legally minimize wastes and recycle materials whenever possible.

Do you work in schools, city buildings or local municipalities?

Yes. We are a Cooperative Educational Services (CES)-preferred vendor. CES is the procurement mechanism that expedites the bid and proposal process in compliance with the New Mexico Procurement Code. Many state and local government agencies also use the CES terms and conditions when contracting for similar services.

Contact an environmental specialist - immediately! Exposure or disturbance of a contaminated area may create serious health hazards for those in the vicinity of the contamination.. Asbestosis, mesothelioma, lead poisoning, eye irritation, and coughing are just a few of the health effects related to inhaling mold, asbestos or lead.

Polychlorinated biphenyls are chemicals utilized in transformers and capacitors of a building’s electrical system. PCBs cause health issues and must be handled and disposed of properly. PCBs often become an important factor during the demolition process of a structure.
